"It's kind of crazy," Skeeter Creek guitarist Joe Kulewicz said while reflecting on his band's rise from the talent show circuit to becoming one of the Capital Region's premier live acts. "We've done a lot of opening spots, had great exposure and gotten to play for some big crowds."
Skeeter Creek's busy summer schedule of shows takes the top-40 country cover band to Alive at Five on Thursday, opening for ascendant country duo LoCash. The gig is another in the band's sturdy legacy as a support act for many of the genre's biggest names over the years,

Local country and cover band Skeeter Creek was plucked from playing a preshow street festival in front of the arena to open the show…Skeeter Creek did the Capital Region proud with covers of tunes by Miranda Lambert, Randy Houser and The Band Perry. They ended with a playful, funny version of Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)” that interpolated Wild Cherry’s “Play that Funky Music” (with the titled tweaked to replace “funky” with “country”) and Aerosmith’s “Walk this Way.”
